DATA CENTER POWER & ENergy Efficiency as a service
Radical Energetics is a technical consulting startup in which I leverage subject matter expertise in renewable energy and high performance computing to advise decision makers and senior managers of data centers, AI, HPC and enterprise IT infrastructure to minimize electricity consumption, power demand, water usage, and associated operating expenditures. Energy efficiency and performance optimization at the software, server, and system level along with renewable energy integration constitute a high level overview of the approach/strategy.

Sustainability & Transparency
Organizations such as Uptime Institute, Energy-Efficient High Performance Computing Working Group (EEHPC WG), the Open Compute Project, DataCenterDynamics, Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC), and others have developed a substantial amount of documentation on strategies and methodologies to address these limitations, however, there are bottlenecks hindering industry adoption and participation. With expertise in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and HPC, Radical Energetics is primed to accelerate the implementation of these measures and optimize data center energy performance.

Physical infrastructure efficiency gains are hitting a point of diminishing returns as PUEs approach 1. .Since power has become a critical limiting factor in future system design, application developers must also optimize their codes for power efficiency. Established optimization practices must be re-evaluated to optimize both run time and power. Implementation of intelligent scheduling algorithms, optimization of workload configurations, and adjustment of processor clock speeds based on workload demands will ensure resources are utilized optimally .

Utility
& Grid Scale Impacts
Data centers in the US used somewhere around 200 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2024, roughly what it takes to power Thailand for a year. AI-specific servers in these data centers are estimated to have used between 53 and 76 terawatt-hours of electricity. On the high end, this is enough to power more than 7.2 million US homes for a year.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Welcome
My name is Conrad Cole and I am the founder of Radical Energetics. We are an early-stage startup and consultancy dedicated to bringing innovative sustainable energy technologies to life and facilitating access to untapped markets via community energy modernization. I aspire to inspire recent graduates like myself from underrepresented minority groups to confidently and strategically pursue entrepreneurship and to fully capitalize on the time, energy, and resources invested in securing their education. I believe entrepreneurship is one of the core pathways toward developing sustainable solutions for the systemic issues that plague our society. Let's connect and make our communities better - together.
Best,
Conrad
